Court Square Press | South Boston, MA

The interior garden at the Court Square Press Building transforms a vacant and bleak courtyard into a vibrant residential amenity within the massive 19th-century post-industrial building. A strategic deployment of pathways, dense plantings, and lighting provides a range of gathering areas eliciting a sense of privacy within the public space. Lighted elements, undulating ground planes, a floating deck, and integrated plantings dynamically engage each layer of the garden and create unique experiential moments. These essential landscape characteristics viscerally coalesce into a dynamic garden choreography revealed and amplified when moving throughout the space or when viewed from above.
